UPDATE: May 18, 2020
NTSA SUMMER CONFERENCE POSTPONED – FUTURE DATE/TIMES TBA
At the direction of the Department of Health and Human Services, we need to postpone our conference. When we have a new date, we will be in touch.
Steven Stewart, our Treasurer, will be contacting those of you who have registered to find out if you would like a refund, or to remain registered for the conference, when it is held.
As a reminder, there is a wealth of information on our website www.NSTA-Nebraska.com Our links page will provide contact information and many tools to help in this time.
One thought: with the uncertainty of when schools will reopen, and what that will look like when they do, you may want to staff and train new drivers in this down time. In fact, you might want to consider adding extra staff, to be held in reserve as substitutes, or backups, if your regularly staffed drivers become unavailable.
Best wishes to you! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

NSTA Summer Conference is scheduled for Friday June 12, 2020 at Kearney’s Holiday Inn.
Good day! We’ve looked at strength-based recruiting, performance impacting leadership, and team-building. Now, we would like to work on empowerment and partnership with our teams!
With several major initiatives, this year’s summer conference will be a great time to get together and share perspectives as well as sharpen our management skills!
Phil Reynolds, from the Ken Blanchard companies, will be our keynote speaker as he trains us in Situational Leadership ®II, a proven, time-tested leadership model that has been used to train over 5 million managers in the world’s most respected organizations.
We’ll take some time after lunch to visit with representatives from bus manufacturers, as well as alternative fuels, routing, safety, and security companies.
Dr. Brooke Envick, a business professor from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, will present on Social Contracts, a tool for creating employee commitment.
We’ll spend the remainder of the afternoon having a roundtable discussion regarding what we need to do to be in compliance with the new Drug and Alcohol Clearing House, Department of Transportation Audits, and the Rule 91 final update.
Matt Quiring will close our conference as he updates us on the Mutual Aid Directory and NSTA vision.
As always, we’ll have a great sit down luncheon and an inspiring day!
